8500 series Multiservice Switch Routers integrate multiservice
ATM switching with wire-speed multiprotocol

Switch Route Processor (SRP), C8510-SRP, equips the Catalyst
8510 as a Layer 3 switch When deployed with the Multiservice
Switch Route Processor, C8515-MSRP, the Catalyst 8510 is
equipped as a multiservice ATM switch
Cisco
8540
- 13-slot
Multiservice chassis
- Route
Processors (RP) and Switch Processors (SP), C8541-RP and
C8542-SP equip the Catalyst 8540 as a Layer 3 switch. When
deployed with Multiservice Route Processors (MSP) and Multiservice
Switch Processor (MSP), C8545-MRP and C8546-MSP respectively,
the Catalyst 8540 can servce as a multiservice ATM switch
- Software
enhancements and the addition of an ATM router module (ARM)
allow the deployment of Multiservice ATM and Layer 3 interfaces
in a single Catalyst 8500 chassis
