Modular Access Routers

Cisco 3660 Series
Multiservice Platform

The Cisco 3660 Series platform improves on
the density, performance, robustness and
serviceability of the very successful Cisco 2600 and 3600 Series family of products, extending these capabilities for use in larger branch-office applications or for telco-managed services as customer premise equipment (CPE). The Cisco 3660 has the versatility to support today's branch and enterprise requirements for data, voice, video, and hybrid dial access applications and the high-speed connectivity necessary to support the increased bandwidth needs for these multiservice applications.

  • Support the widest breadth of applications on a single platform, including data, voice, video, and hybrid dial access integration
  • Investment protection - Cisco 3660 Series shares modular interfaces with the Cisco 1600, 1700, 2600and 3600 Series platforms simplifying network support
  • The Cisco 3660 Series provides hot-swap capability of like-to-like network modules and for redundant power supplies, ensuring high availability
  • Integrated 10/100 autosensing Ethernet ports on the motherboard of the Cisco 3660 Series platforms free up all six network module slots, enabling higher densities of LAN/WAN or multiservice aggregation
  • 2 Advanced Integration Module (AIM) slots on the motherboard allow for increased processing power
  • Chassis support for redundant AC or DC power supplies

Cisco 3700 Series
Application Service Routers

The Cisco 3700 Series Application Service Routers are a new family of modular routers that enable flexible and scalable deployment of new e-business applications in an integrated branch office access platform. For customers planning to migrate services from legacy infrastructure and to distribute new applications from the core to the edge of the enterprise the Cisco 3700 Series offers a powerful new solution for remote office access. The Cisco 3700 Series supports the Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data), which is the enterprise-wide, standards-based network architecture that provides the roadmap for combining business and technology strategies into one cohesive model.

Cisco 3700 Series is ideal for sites and solutions requiring hig levels of integration at the edge:

  • Integration of flexible routing and low-density switching
  • Single platform solution for Branch Office IP Telephony and Voice Gateway allowing flexible, incremental migration and service integration
  • Consolidation of service infrastructure and high service density in a compact form factor
  • 2 Integrated 10/100 LAN ports
  • 2 Integrated Advanced Integration Modules (AIM) slots
  • 3 Integrated WAN Interface Card (WIC) slots

Cisco 3620 and 3640 Series
Multiservice Platform

The modular Cisco 3600 Series is available as a two or four-slot chassis. Each chassis supports a wide array of network modules making the platform highly configurable to meet current and future connectivity requirements. It is sometimes
difficult to ascertain just how requirements will change in the future so the Cisco 3600 platform is designed to shift in any number of directions to meet evolving needs in dial access, routing or LAN-to-LAN and multiservice voice, video, and
data integration.

  • Branch office routing
  • Multiservice voice, video, and data integration
  • Hybrid ISDN access server with integrated digital modems
  • Inter-VLAN routing
  • Asynchronous terminal serviceso High density ISDN or asynchronous dial access
  • Systems Network Architecture (SNA) mainframe access
  • WAN services concentration

Cisco 2600 Series
