The Cisco
3660 Series platform improves on
the density, performance, robustness and
serviceability of the very successful Cisco 2600 and 3600
Series family of products, extending these capabilities for
use in larger branch-office applications or for telco-managed
services as customer premise equipment (CPE). The Cisco 3660
has the versatility to support today's branch and enterprise
requirements for data, voice, video, and hybrid dial access
applications and the high-speed connectivity necessary to
support the increased bandwidth needs for these multiservice
applications.

- Support
the widest breadth of applications on a single platform,
including data, voice, video, and hybrid dial access integration
- Investment
protection - Cisco 3660 Series shares modular interfaces
with the Cisco 1600, 1700, 2600and 3600 Series platforms
simplifying network support
- The
Cisco 3660 Series provides hot-swap capability of like-to-like
network modules and for redundant power supplies, ensuring
high availability
- Integrated
10/100 autosensing Ethernet ports on the motherboard of
the Cisco 3660 Series platforms free up all six network
module slots, enabling higher densities of LAN/WAN or multiservice
aggregation
- 2 Advanced
Integration Module (AIM) slots on the motherboard allow
for increased processing power

The modular
Cisco 3600 Series is available as a two or four-slot chassis.
Each chassis supports a wide array of network modules making
the platform highly configurable to meet current and future
connectivity requirements. It is sometimes
difficult to ascertain just how requirements will change in
the future so the Cisco 3600 platform is designed to shift
in any number of directions to meet evolving needs in dial
access, routing or LAN-to-LAN and multiservice voice, video,
and
data integration.
